Orthopedics and Rheumatology - Juniper Publishers Abstract Introduction: Several methods are used in the treatment of intra-articular proximal interphalangeal joint fractures. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of a simple handmade dynamic external fixator for unstable fracture-dislocations and pilon injuries of the PIP joint in an active-duty population and to investigate whether or not these patients had adequate finger movement.
